How DVA funding works
Can a cleaner lodge my DVA claim?
No. Your claim is yours to make. Here is who can help, and where we come in.
Veteran Home Help is an independent private business. We are not part of, endorsed by or acting for the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) or any government agency. DVA decides what you are approved for.

Can a cleaner lodge my DVA claim for me?
No. Your household services claim is yours to make: you lodge it with DVA, or someone you nominate lodges it for you, using form D9319. A cleaning business, including the Veteran Home Help team, doesn't lodge DVA claims or fill in DVA forms for veterans. If you'd like help with the claim, ex-service organisation advocates help veterans and their families through the claims process, and DVA says they don't charge for this, although some ask a small administration fee. You can find one on the Advocacy Register, or call DVA on 1800 VETERAN (1800 838 372). What we do starts once DVA has approved your services: you email us your approval letter and the one-page supplier sheet, we book each service exactly as your approval lists it, and we invoice DVA for the work we do. If a provider offers to lodge your claim or to sort out your approval for you, ask who they are acting for and what they charge.
Who can help with my claim?
DVA and ex-service organisations, not a service provider.
- Ex-service organisation advocates: find one on the Advocacy Register.
- DVA: 1800 VETERAN (1800 838 372).
- Someone you nominate can lodge the claim for you. See how to apply.
Where we come in
Once DVA has approved your services, we handle the invoicing with DVA. See what to send us.
