How DVA funding works
What to send us once DVA has approved your services
The two documents we need, how we read your approval, and how we keep your documents safe.
Veteran Home Help is an independent private business. We are not part of, endorsed by or acting for the Department of Veterans' Affairs (DVA) or any government agency. DVA decides what you are approved for.

What do I send you once DVA has approved my services?
Once DVA has approved your household services, we need two documents: your approval letter, which lists the services you can have, how many a year and the maximum cost of each, and the one-page supplier information sheet that comes with it, which shows your Transaction Reference Number (TRN). Send them by email to admin@veteranhomehelp.com.au after we've spoken on the phone, not through the website form. We read your approval with you and book each service exactly as your letter lists it: the same service type, no more often than it allows, and within the maximum cost per service. DVA pays only for the services on your letter, so we book only the services your letter lists. If a job would cost more than your approved amount, or your services in one week would go over the weekly limit, we tell you before we book. We then invoice DVA for each service we deliver.
How an approval reads
This is an example only, not a real letter. A real approval lists your own services, how often, the maximum cost of each and the start and end dates. We book from your letter, line by line.
Example only
| Service type | Frequency | Maximum per service (inc GST) |
|---|---|---|
| House cleaning | 26 services per year | $239.70 |
| Solar panel cleaning | 2 services per year | $319.60 |
Keeping your documents safe
Your letter and your TRN are private. Here is how we handle them.
- Please don't send them through the website form: we ask for them by email after we've spoken.
- Keep your TRN private: share it only with the provider that invoices DVA for you. DVA's Provider Upload Page ties each invoice to it.
- We store your documents on a computer with a paper backup for as long as we provide your services, and delete them when you stop.
- More in our privacy policy.
What happens next
Three steps from your first call to your first visit.
- 1.We call you back.
- 2.You email your two DVA documents.
- 3.We book your first visit.
Where this comes from
Every fact on this page comes from DVA's own website and documents.
Checked against DVA's website on 25 October 2026. DVA decides what you are approved for; if anything here differs from your own letter, your letter is what counts.
