How DVA funding works
How to check a cleaner or home help provider under DVA
The checks DVA asks you to make before a provider works in your home, and the questions worth asking.

What should I check before a provider works in my home?
Under DVA household services, you choose your own provider: DVA doesn't contract or engage providers for you. DVA's guidance is that a suitable provider holds an Australian Business Number (ABN) and has completed police checks, a Working with Children Check and a Working with Vulnerable People Check, and that you confirm the provider has appropriate insurance. Before anyone starts work in your home, it's reasonable to ask to see these: the ABN on their quote or invoice, the check results and a current insurance certificate. A provider who invoices DVA for you also needs your Transaction Reference Number (TRN), so ask how they keep your DVA documents safe and what they do with them when you stop using them. A good provider shows you these without being asked. A provider can't approve your services or change what DVA has approved: DVA decides that, and DVA doesn't pay for work your approval doesn't list.
